Acute Medicine Consultant, Kent, Full Time, Permanent, up to £110,000 per annum + Benefits
Key Details: I am recruitment for a Consultant who specialises in Acute Medicine to join this NHS Site who is connected to a number of others throughout the London area.
Location: Orpington, Kent – within easy access via Train, Bus and Car with car park.
Salary: £90,000 – £110,000 per annum / £43.26 – £52.84 per hour based on 40 Hours per week.

Further Details about the Role: As a Consultant specialising in Acute Medicine you will be required to assess, investigate, diagnose and manage the care of patients with conditions that have developed quickly, exhibit severe symptoms and may be life threatening. This position will involve the immediate care of patients around the time of their admission to hospital and the initial diagnosis and treatment for up to 72 hours of all acutely presenting medical ailments. It also includes the provision of ambulatory outpatient care. The spectrum of clinical problems will be wide, which will help all successful applicants become medical specialists. A wide range of clinical work within this speciality will include;
* managing acute presentation of medical illness promptly
* managing medical patients in an in-patient setting
* developing new patient pathways to maximise safe, effective care in the community where feasible
* providing leadership skills within an acute medical unit
* developing multi-professional systems to promote optimal patient care
* the care of patients requiring more intensive levels of care than would be generally managed in a medical ward, usually gained from experience within a critical care unit.
Person Specification: I am looking for the successful applicant for this Acute Medicine Consultant to possess a Registerable medical qualification and be of MRCP or equivalent. Full GMC registration and position on the Specialist register without restrictions. Wide experience in all aspects of General Medicine, culminating in award of CCT or equivalent in Avute Medicine or General Internal Medicine. All applicants must be effective communicators, able to work in a close-knit team and co-operatw with all medical and clinical staff.
You must be willing to contribute to the out of hours on call rota and be flexible to deliver 7 day care.
