Consultant Dermatologist, South of Hampshire, Part Time, up to £120,000pa + Benefits
Location: Portsmouth – within easy access via Train, Bus and Car with Car Park
Salary: £90,000 – £120,000 per annum / £46.15 – £61.53 per hour based on 37.5 hours per week
Hours: 32 hours per week

Further Details about the Role: As a Consultant Dermatologist you will be required to be responsible for the management of patients with skin disease (excluding skin cancers) as part of a multidisciplinary team for patients referred to the treatment centre and provide supervision of the provision of the service delivered by allied healthcare professionals. Duties will only include assessment; there will be no requirement for administering treatment for severe skin conditions or surgical procedures. The Consultant will participate in the outpatients across 5 sites which are located within a 10-mile radius. It is anticipated that sessional requirement will be 7 a month spread across community sites. S/he will work closely with clinical colleagues, both specialists and nurses, in order to enhance the level of patient care at the centre. He/she will be expected to work with local managers and professional colleagues in the efficient running of services and will share with consultant colleagues in the medical contribution to management. The post holder will have the opportunity to review their job plan with the Medical Directors at least annually
Person Specification: I am looking for the successful applicant for this Consultant opportunity to possess Full and specialist GMC Registration with licence to practice. UK Registerable Medical Degree. The post holder much be able to demonstrate a high level of operative skills in the following areas; Clinical Triage, Delivery of a range of treatments including prescribing and investigations as required. Advise and education for GP’s patients and primary care stuff. Development of a multidisciplinary team approach. The post holder will be required to have experience of the above skills. Applicants will be expected to have an excellent clinical quality record and be able to demonstrate the ability to perform efficiently. The post holder will be required to have Fellowship level training in dermatology.
