Infection Prevention and Control Lead, Central London, Full Time, up to £45,000 per annum + Benefits
The Key Details are – I am recruiting for an IPC Lead to ensure IPC is addressed in all areas of the hospital, and reflected throughout all activity related to healthcare provision. Taking accountability for infection prevention all new business, new build and refurbishment. Ensuring compliance to the HCAI code (DH 2010) for CQC requirements in England and equivalent for hospitals in Scotland and Wales
Location: Central London – within easy access via Train, Bus and Car
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum / £20.51 – £23.07 per hour based on 37.5 hours per week.
Hours: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week.

Further Details about the Role: I am looking to recruit a Lead IPC to deliver care that helps improve the health of the individual and wider community. To be a core member of the Hospital IPC committee (HIPCC). Utilise and work in partnership with the local Infection Control Doctor (ICD) ensuring that the service level agreement is appropriate for the hospital size, activity levels and complexity. Ensure that the highest standards of clinical quality management is maintained to promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of patients, employees and visitors. Delivery of CQC standards relevant to the department and responsibilities. Satisfactory audit and clinical practice and documentation. To ensure all low risk medical devices throughout the hospital are subject to a decontamination schedule appropriate for the level of risk. To deputise for the line manager in their absence as appropriate.
Person Specification: The successful applicant for this IPC opportunity must be a Registered Nurse or other profession e.g ODP and possess either an NMC or HCPC registration. It is a must to have previous experience working in IPC. Previous experience working within the acute healthcare sector. Specialist knowledge to a level defined for that hospital. Able to apply specialist knowledge to risk assessment and support appropriate controls. Can provide leadership and development of all disciplines of staff. Ability to work across disciplines. Good communication skills. Ability to manage difficult and complex situations.
