A qualified and experienced Psychologist is required to join a private rehabilitation hospital for women in Birmingham.

You will be a HCPC registered Psychologist with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in working in mental health services. Experience in DBT would be highly advantageous.

About the hospital:

Patients admitted may be informal or detained under the Mental Health Act with a primary diagnosis of mental illness and personality disorder with complex needs. This is a 24-bedded rehabilitation hospital in Birmingham, that supports its female patients to develop resilience, make sense of past life events, improve attachment to relationships, make sense of emotional, behavioural and developmental difficulties that can result from experience of abuse, neglect, maltreatment and/or adversity.

What you will be doing:

-You will be responsible for providing high quality clinical assessments.
-You will support with the delivery of a full ward programme which will include facilitating groups and managing a case load of patients for individual therapy sessions.
-You will use a range of psychological therapies including dialectical behavioural therapy.
-You will be involved in Risk Assessment and Management.
-Delivering full programme for groups and individuals for therapy primarily using DBT/CBT, Risk Assessments and Management.
-Providing comprehensive and specialist assessments and intervention packages to patients.
-Working creatively and flexibly to develop and implement innovative practice and service developments.
-You will be supported by an Assistant Psychologist and you will be responsible for their supervision.
-Completing patient reports, inputting data on Carenotes and completing 16 week timetable.

This is a part time, 30 hours per week, permanent post. Flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays is required. The role is paying £30,000 per annum + benefits.
